Ocean Beach Kite Festival

Saturday, May 18, Robb Field, Ocean Beach, Map If You Need It

Time: Fly All Day

Lunch: I would plan to feed yourself. Haven’t heard yet what might be available at the festival. Sometimes food trucks or food booths. Sometimes no.

Activity: The Ocean Beach Kiwanis put on this kid centric kite festival. One of, if not the oldest kids kite festival going (depends who you ask, I’m looking at you Austin Tx.). Our job is to support the Kiwanis! Fly and show off kites, fly demos, do the Candy Drop, do some kite wrangling for the flying challenged. Help people to enjoy kites. So obviously we need Flyers and Volunteers for the day! Did I mention the Candy Drop needs many volunteers!

Kite Party Huntington Beach

March 9 & 10, Huntington Beach Pier

See Kite Party Website

Note this is the second Saturday in March and traditionally the March General Meeting is moved to the Third Saturday since a number of members will be at Kite Party.

To be an official Kite Party participant you must be registered (limited number). However if you don’t make the cut you can still go. Lots of good stuff to see and people to meet and talk to. You can always go a short ways down the beach and fly if you just can’t stand not flying.
