August Club Meetup & Important Membership Meeting
Our August meeting will be one of the most important meetings our club has held in recent years. We will be discussing the future of the San Diego Kite Club, including our financial outlook, tax obligations, long-term planning, and new ideas to help our club continue to grow and thrive.
Your input is important, and we encourage every member to attend and participate in the discussion.
If you are unable to attend, please email president@sandiegokiteclub.org so we can keep track of members who will be absent. We are also exploring the possibility of providing a live online option for members who cannot attend in person. If we are able to offer this, we will send another email with viewing instructions before the meeting.

(Meeting discussion is expected to last approximately 30–45 minutes.)

Drinks: The club will provide a variety of cold drinks for everyone attending.
Why Is This Meeting Longer Than Usual?
Most of our club meetings are intentionally brief, typically lasting about 10 minutes. This meeting is different.
We have several important topics to discuss, and we want to give every member the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and help shape the direction of our club. While we anticipate the formal discussion lasting approximately 30 to 45 minutes, the actual length will depend on member participation and the conversation itself.
There are only a handful of major topics on the agenda, so we may finish sooner. However, we’d rather allow extra time than rush through discussions that will help guide the future of the San Diego Kite Club.
We hope you’ll join us for this important conversation. Together, we can continue building a strong, fun, and successful club for many years to come.

San Diego Park and Recreation Department – July 31st
The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department has also reached out to us regarding three local events in July through their Therapeutic Recreation Services program. We’ve supported these events in the past, and they are always very mellow, meaningful days of flying. We assist participants of varying ages and abilities in flying kites. Our founder, Dan Willan, is especially passionate about our involvement in these events and I am as well. If you are able to attend one or more of the dates below, please contact me and share which dates you are interested in volunteering for. It would mean a lot, and we are looking for 4 volunteers for each event.
