Club Meetup May 9th / Clockshop’s Kite Festival May 9th
-The San Diego Kite Club meetup was a great day to be outdoors and flying with friends. If you want to see some photos of our last meetup, go to Facebook and check out our group page or main page.
-Don Fox and Dave Soutar represented us well and reported back about the festivities. Both had a great time with so many around them feeling the same way. You can see more about how the day went by visiting our facebook group page. We will likely have a new article written about the event so everyone can learn and see more. Maybe you will want to attend next year.

The San Diego Kite Club is heavily involved in this event annually and especially this year. We have volunteers scheduled from 6am until 5pm. We are providing many club member volunteers to help setup the field, assist with fun activities throughout the day and providing helping hands for breaking down the event.
To end the month of May, we have a San Diego Kite Club fundraiser event you can read about.
Destination Concepts Inc. at The Hotel Del Coronado — We secured the job, and it’s a big win for the club. The San Diego Kite Club continues to build strong momentum by turning a shared passion for kite flying into meaningful fundraising that supports our future. A small group of members will deliver a professional performance over three nights, generating over $6,650 for the club. Performers are generously volunteering their time, with compensation provided to support their participation and ensure a high-quality presentation.
This success reflects a true team effort, powered by dedicated volunteers and talented pilots. It’s also the result of consistent behind-the-scenes work to create these opportunities, with Ziggy playing a key role in building connections and maintaining that momentum.
Ziggy has coordinated the performance team through months of planning, ensuring a high level of professionalism throughout. He has also expanded the opportunity by facilitating partnerships that create added value for those involved.
Through these efforts, Revolution will produce 10 custom kites for the three-day event, while José Sainz has been contracted to design and build a custom Rokkaku advertising piece. These collaborations strengthen the overall presentation while creating additional revenue opportunities and professional exposure for members of the San Diego Kite Club, resulting in a mutually beneficial outcome for both the club and the broader kite community.
