2019 Visually Impaired Kids Field Day

Friday, May 17, 2019 at South Clairemont Park Map If You Need It

Address: 3605 Clairemont Dr, San Diego, CA 92117

Time: Approx. 0930 to Noon

What: Once again SDKC has been invited to take part in the San Diego Unified School Districts Field Day For Students with Visual Impairments. Flying kites is just one of the many activities available to the students at this event but we like to think it is an improtant one. Basically you just have to show up with a few kites and try to keep them in the air so the students can get a taste of flying kites. I say trying because the wind is challenging most years. Light wind stuff is usually the order of the day. You probably don’t want your best kites as you will be letting others fly them. As always you can let Prez Dave know if you can participate: president@sandiegokiteclub.org

Yes This Is The Day Before The Ocean Beach Kite Festival But You Can Handle It!! It Is Only A Couple Of Hours.

Update 4 Feb: President Dave says a kite with a ‘Parisian Sunset’ painted on the skin will be given away to the winner of a drawing for all participants in the Valentine Themed Kite Theme.

Kite Party 17

Saturday and Sunday, March 9 & 10, Huntington Beach Pier, Map If you need it.

This would normally be Kite Club Meeting weekend but since many members attend Kite Party the meeting will be Saturday, March 16.

Don’t know what Kite party is? See the Kite Party Website Here. Read all the, umm, rules and register. You must be a Registered Flyer to fly in the official KP roped off areas. Registration is limited to 100. However, just because you may not be registered doesn’t mean you can’t come. Plenty of people to see, and kites to see, and it is a big beach – you can fly a short distance away! If you do register remember, if your significant other doesn’t fly then they don’t need to register – leave the spot open for others. If you do register but then can’t attend let Dave Shenkman know as soon as possible to free up your spot for someone else.

Remember, it isn’t a festival, it isn’t a competition, it is a Kite Party!

March Indoor Fly

The date isn’t set for sure yet. This will be the first Indoor fly of 2019.
This post will be updated when details are known.

Not one of the regulars? More info on the EMF website here.. You can also pay your dues in advance online. Paying in advance if you can is greatly appreciated – the space rent is paid in advance for the year!
